About The Spirit Garden
The Spirit Garden is a holistic health business born out of the personal journey of its Owner and CEO, Ellen Lalicata, HHC, AADP. The mission of The Spirit Garden is to assist others in achieving abundant health and vitality through individual consultations and group programs focused on whole nutrition including diet, self-discovery and spiritual reflection.
About Ellen:
Ellen has been working in healthcare for over 10 years and has been on both ends of the counselor/client relationship. Her interest in nutrition stemmed from her own need to heal herself from an undiagnosed eating disorder that began during her teenage years and extended into young adulthood. In 1993, Ellen enrolled in the nutrition program at the University of New Hampshire and completed her studies at the University of Rhode Island graduating with a B.S. in Dietetics in 1997. Realizing knowledge is power, Ellen began to overcome her issues with food and her body through her studies both in and outside of school. It was through her own healing process that she realized her desire to become a teacher of this information and help facilitate healing for others.
In 2004 a friend recommended she read a book called "Anatomy of the Spirit" by Caroline Myss which propelled Ellen to further study the link between physical and spiritual health and set her on the path to explore her own spirituality. As a result, the last few years have been an amazing journey of self-discovery and inner transformation for Ellen resulting in an awakening that led to the birthing of The Spirit Garden.
One of the fundamental concepts of The Spirit Garden is that whole nutrition is not just about the body, but about the mind and spirit, as well. You need a balance of all three to be truly healthy. As a Holistic Health Counselor, Ellen uses a combination of all that she has learned, and continues to learn, about whole health to guide you in finding this balance for yourself and tending to the garden within.
Ellen Lalicata is a Nutritionist with a B.S. in Dietetics from the University of Rhode Island and a certified Holistic Health Counselor who trained at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, affiliated with Columbia University. Ellen is certified through the American Association of Drugless Practitioners.
